Mooring First

InterMoor, an Acteon company, has completed its first permanent mooring work in the CNOOC-operated Lufeng oil field, South China Sea. The Nanhai Sheng Kai floating, storage and offloading vessel, in service since 1992 in the LF 13-2 field, has had its service life extended 15 years with the replacement of corroded subsea mooring and buoy turret mooring systems.

The company was also involved in the installation of a 8in flexible flowline and riser between the buoy turret mooring and the LF 13-2 wellhead platform, as well as temporary replacement of the buoy turret mooring system to accept the interim Nanhai Kai Tuo FSO unit.

GE Oil & Gas will supply its gas turbine-driven compressor train technology to Petronas for a floating LNG facility under construction by Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering in Korea for deployment in the Kanowit gas field 180km off the coast of east Malaysia, scheduled for startup in 4Q 2015.

The FLNG vessel, able to produce 1.2mtpa, will raise total LNG production capacity in Malaysia to 26.9mtpa.

The GE equipment includes four PGT25+G4 gas turbine generator systems, two PGT25+G4 gas turbine driven compressor units and two electric motor centrifugal compressor modules, delivery in 3Q 2013.
