February 17, 2016

Chevron has awarded Ensco a contract for the Ensco 8504 semisubmersible rig to begin operations in March, offshore Indonesia.

The rig is now mobilizing to Indonesia, and is expected to begin operations in late March. The contract is set to end in early July with a dayrate of about US$270,000.

Ensco will receive a lump sum of about $8 million for mobilization, acceptance testing and rig load out to be amortized over primary contract term, according to the company’s fleet status report.
