ASX-listed Transerv Energy commenced testing operations at the Warro-6 onshore well in Western Australia and recorded substantial gas flow.

Currently flowing at 1.3 MMcf/d on a 42/64in choke, a jet pump is assisting with the lifting of the fluids. The flow rates are yet to be stabilized.

Transerv Managing Director Stephen Keenihan said the promising results were in line with Transerv’s expectations at this stage.

“While it is very early days in our long term testing program of Warro-6, and the well is yet to stabilize, we are encouraged by the flows we are seeing at this early stage," Keenihan said.

Warro is Australia’s undeveloped onshore gas field, with a total estimated resource of 11.6 Tcf of gas in place. Warro‐6, which is located approximately 3km to the northwest of Warro‐5ST, commenced drilling in the first week of October 2015.

The completion operation at the Warro-5 well is almost finished and testing is expected to commence within 48 hours. Operator Transerv has a 57% stake in Warro, while Alcoa of Australia is earning up to 65% under a farm‐in agreement.
