Petronas has signed a long term contract with S-OIL Corp. to supply liquefied natural gas (LNG) for the latter’s new plant operations and as feedstock for hydrogen production.

Under the 15-year agreement, its subsidiary Petronas LNG will deliver up to 0.7 MTPA of LNG to S-OIL beginning 2018. S-Oil is an oil refining company based in Seoul, South Korea.

This comes after the Malaysian energy major signed a 10-year LNG supply agreement with Hokkaido Electric Power, a Japanese utility company. This 10-year deal will see its subsidiary Malaysia LNG (MLNG) deliver up to 130,000 metric tonnes of LNG per year.

MLNG operates the Petronas LNG Complex in Bintulu, Sarawak. The nine-train facility has a combined annual production capacity of about 30 million tonnes.
